Celebrity Promotional Services (CPS) was a sports marketing agency owned by Tony Priscaro. His partner was former Pittsburgh Steelers Defensive Back and Super Bowl Winner, Dwayne Woodruff. CPS represented former and current Pittsburgh Steelers players in their marketing efforts. CPS found endorsements, autograph sessions, speaking engagements, and events/appearances for all its clients. Mr Priscaro also created events for his clients to keep them in the public eye.
Golf Tournaments (Several golf events were created and assisted by CPS)
Charity Christmas Dinner (5 years in a row, where Steelers players had dinner with families that couldn’t have Christmas. Sponsors would give money so gifts could be bought. Players’ wives would go shopping for the kids. This all benefitted the Salvation Army of Pittsburgh)
Steelers Pregame Radio Show (This was developed to sell to sponsors and a restaurant to host. CPS clients would make an appearance on game day 2 hours prior to the Steelers game to do a one-hour radio show then stay to sign autographs. This was a paid event for the CPS client and Mr Priscaro was the radio host).
Cigar Dinner (This is an event that was developed to benefit “Abilities of Florida” which is an organization that helps people with downs syndrome or neurological disorders get a job or back to work if they experienced a tragic event. Several Tampa Bay Buccaneer Players and Devil Ray Executives, including, Hall of Famer, Derrick Brooks participated in this event. A silent auction was also put together to raise money. Mr Priscaro was the QB of this event.)
Player autograph Sessions/Appearances (This was CPS’s bread and butter. The above events were very nice but CPS had several corporate clients like the Miller Brewing Company, Coors Brewery, Iron City Brewery, Quaker & Lube, and Sports Card Shows that on an annual basis hired its clients to make paid appearances.)
One most notable promotion that still has memorabilia for sale online today is a promotion Mr Priscaro created, developed and sold to PNC Bank that involved CPS client, John Stallworth.Mr Stallworth had recently been inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame. Priscaro developed a promotion for current and future PNC bank customers to receive a “Limited Edition” John Stallworth “Hall of Fame” Bobble Head Doll with PNC Bank Branding when a new Checking, Savings, or Money Market account would be opened. This was a highly successful Campaign!
